The new YouTube ContentID, VideoID, and AudioID system helps wipe out duplicate videos, so every time a copy is detected YouTube gains more and more free space. They have decided to use this free space for longer videos, and most users say they are happy with the upgrade. YouTube also included a “15 Minutes Of Fame” contest which is sadly over now but drew a lot of attention and heat to regular YouTube-ers. Personally, I prefer creating and viewing videos that are under a minute. The only exception is professional music videos so as this one:
