In Windows, the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) is a critical part TCP/IP network communication. While using the Internet or even a local area network (LAN), you may have experienced issues with connections not being made, or loss of ping. Often this is because of a physical network problem; however, another cause often overlooked is the ARP cache. From the command prompt, the ARP Command has the functionality to add, delete, or display MAC Address to IP translation.
How To Clear The ARP Cache in Windows
- Click the Windows Start Menu Orb and Type cmd into the search box. Right-click cmd.exe and click Run as administrator
